Pixel

This project is the winner of the first LIV Design Student Challenge and presented in virtual reality at Vancouver Interior Design Show (IDS) 2022. Pixel was developed with the challenge to create a collaborative workspace for an ever-evolving future of hybrid work in the Interior Design industry. This project was done in collaboration with Jordana Dall’Igna and Kimiya Khezri.

Concept

A pixel. The smallest unit of a digital image or graphic that can be displayed and represented on a digital display device. Alone seems insignificant, almost invisible, but when put with others, it creates unimaginable things. That’s the power of togetherness. In this extraordinary era of pandemic isolation and social distancing, remembering the importance of being together is peace of mind. We are social by nature, and being together matters.

Pixel explores the limitless potential of togetherness by creating a collaborative, positive, and functional workplace for the interior design industry that extrapolates the limits between the physical and digital world. Welcoming professionals for both in-person and virtual meetings, Pixel uses bursts of vibrant colour and modular furniture to provide a comfortable, high-tech space that can double as a space to unwind and relax through team-oriented activities.
